No Recession for Fine Sapphires
Recent sale prices of sapphires at auction have been very strong.
The table below shows auction results for sapphires in the month of December 2009.

Table Excerpted from Rapaport Magazine
Prices for fine quality untreated sapphires have remained at or above record prices even through the global recession: this is because fine natural sapphires are extremely rare.
Fine Ceylon sapphires continue to sell at ranges anywhere from $5000. to $10,000. Per/ct. Burmese stones are upwards of $20,000. to $30,000. Per/ct. Kashmir sapphires in very fine quality continue to break auction records, even in the worst financial times. See our 3 carat Kashmir, available at a bargain price! It might be even more tempting in one of our custom jewelery settings, but it’s a fine collector piece in its own right.

Blue Sapphire B2670
Once again quality and rarity hold their value: these are public auctions, where supply and demand create the market prices.
We are very confident that natural untreated sapphires will continue to retain and appreciate in value even in the worst economies.
Have confidence in buying the best, and remember … the bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
