From the heart of Ceylon Sri Lanka these two transparent yellow sapphires began their journey as rough crystals hidden in alluvial gravels, carried by monsoon waters and shaped by time, they were discovered by experienced miners who know the island by sight and season. At The Natural Sapphire Company we followed their story from mine to studio, selecting each piece for its lively medium intense color and clean internal character, they weigh 0.86 carats and 0.87 carats respectively, their cushion shape and mixed brilliant cut were chosen to maximize brilliance and fire, the dimensions are 5.39 x 5.33 x 3.36 mm and 5.39 x 5.37 x 3.34 mm, the polish is excellent, and both stones are eye clean when examined at eye level. To achieve their vivid and uniform yellow tone they have been enhanced by beryllium diffusion, a stable treatment that we disclose openly, and their Sri Lankan origin ties them to a long tradition of gem cutting and appreciation that dates back centuries.
