This pinkish purple Ceylon sapphire began its journey deep within the alluvial gravels of Sri Lanka, where careful artisanal mining recovered a clean, transparent rough with attractive color zoning. From the moment it left the mine, experienced sorters evaluated crystal orientation to maximize the stone's inherent pink and violet components. The rough was mapped and preformed by cutters conversant with Ceylon material, who oriented the pavilion and crown to preserve weight while enhancing color saturation. A controlled heat treatment was applied in a certified facility to intensify and stabilize the hue, followed by a meticulous cleaning and a preliminary inspection.
