1.04 Ct. Purplish Pink Sapphire from Ceylon (Sri Lanka)

From the fertile gem fields of Ceylon a single crystal began its long journey, born in the layered soils and cooled volcanic seams of Sri Lanka, guided by water and time into the purplish pink hue that makes Ceylon sapphires so beloved. Skilled miners recognized its promise and sent it onward to cutters who respect the stone, who study each internal grain and color zoning before committing their tools. This one emerged as a transparent 1.04 carat oval, precisely measured at 6.15 by 5.08 by 3.78 millimeters, shaped with a mixed brilliant cut to marry depth of color with maximum scintillation. A careful, controlled heat treatment was applied to stabilize and intensify its chroma, a traditional enhancement that reveals the true, vivid personality of the sapphire without obscuring its natural character. The cutter then executed an excellent polish, bringing each facet to a mirror finish, while leaving the gem with included clarity when evaluated at eye level, a testament to its natural origin rather than a flaw to be hidden.
