From a remote pocket of Madagascar to the careful hands of our master cutters, this padparadscha sapphire carries the story of place and patience, and The Natural Sapphire Company is proud to bring it to you. This transparent, pear shape padparadscha weighs 2.26 carat, and measures 10.17 by 6.70 by 4.34 mm, a proportion chosen to harmonize length and depth, to flatter both setting and finger. The rough crystal was selected for its rare salmon pink to peach tone, a medium color intensity that is neither too faint nor too saturated, and left untreated to preserve its natural character, with no enhancement. During cutting a mixed brilliant pattern was chosen to celebrate both scintillation and flash, the facets meeting an excellent polish that allows light to pass, reflect, and return without obstruction. The clarity is very slightly included evaluated at eye level, a mark of authenticity that gives the stone personality without compromising the clarity that lets its internal fire speak.
What makes this sapphire sparkle in a way few stones can is the union of corundum structure, expert geometry, and surgical finishing. The corundum crystal lattice bestows a high refractive index and notable dispersion, so each facet becomes a miniature stage for light, splitting white beam into soft flashes of warmth that complement the padparadscha hue. The mixed brilliant cut combines the depth and pavilion angles of brilliant faceting with the elegant table and crown arrangement suited to a pear outline, creating pathways for light that alternate between scintillation and broad, luminous flashes. The excellent polish acts like a mirror on every facet, enhancing contrast and allowing pinpoint reflections that make the stone appear alive as it moves. Its transparency and medium color intensity mean the color is present, yet not so dense that it suppresses sparkle, while the very slightly included clarity gives the gem a natural, unaltered soul. As stewards of exceptional sapphires, The Natural Sapphire Company offers this Madagascar padparadscha as a rare treasure, ready to become an heirloom, a signature stone, or the centerpiece of a bespoke commission.
