This green sapphire began its journey millions of years ago as trace elements dissolved within deep crustal fluids, subjected to sustained heat and pressure in a geologic environment largely defined by igneous and metamorphic activity. Under these conditions aluminum oxide crystallized slowly, incorporating iron and titanium that together produce a green hue, and occasionally traces of chromium that can influence tone. Over geologic time the crystal grew in a stable lattice, developing the transparency and clarity that are evident today. Subsequent uplift and erosion released the crystal from its host rock, allowing fluvial processes to transport and concentrate it in alluvial deposits in what is now Montana. The stone you see was recovered from that setting, retaining internal features that document its natural origin, and later subjected to controlled heat treatment to refine color and clarity, a standard and permanent enhancement that enhances the gem without altering its fundamental structure.
This transparent 0.34 carat emerald cut green sapphire measures 4.96 x 2.98 x 2.23 mm, and displays an emerald cut that emphasizes linear facets and broad table, rendering color and clarity with restrained elegance. The clarity is graded very slightly included as evaluated at eye level, indicative of small internal features that are typical of natural sapphires and that do not detract from the stone s visual appeal. The color intensity is classified as medium light, producing a delicate green that reads both natural and versatile in a variety of settings. The polish is excellent, contributing to crisp facet junctions and good light return for a gem of this size. Origin is Montana, enhancement is heat treated, and the piece is presented with the accurate technical description that clients expect from The Natural Sapphire Company. For design considerations the emerald cut proportions and the compact dimensions make this sapphire suitable for a refined center in minimalist jewelry or as an elegant accent stone, and standard care for corundum will preserve its appearance for generations.
