Product description

There is a moment when a jewel stops being just an object, and begins to live as a memory, and this green sapphire from The Natural Sapphire Company invites you into that moment. Transparent and luminous, this oval shape sapphire carries a presence that feels both ancient and immediate, with a weight that grounds the imagination. We present a 2.01 carat gem, cut in a mixed brilliant style, measuring 7.95 x 6.88 x 4.17 mm, with an intense color intensity and an excellent polish. Evaluated at eye level, it is very very slightly included, which gives it a whisper of character while preserving a clear and lively transparency. Origin Ceylon Sri Lanka, enhancement heat treated, this stone is more than a gem, it is an heirloom in waiting, a small, living geography of time and light.

Picture the world when this sapphire first began to become itself, millions of years ago, far beneath the surface where fire meets stone and patience sculpts the exquisite. Deep in the earth, tectonic plates pressed and folded ancient layers of rock, creating pockets of pressure and heat that lasted for epochs. In that slow kiln, aluminum rich fluids moved through fissures, and traces of iron and titanium, sometimes mingled with vanadium, threaded into the developing crystal lattice. Each atom took its place with deliberate slowness, building a structure that would refract and hold light in ways that would eventually make hearts pause. Over countless seasons of geological change, the crystal grew, facet by facet, retaining within its core the memory of the heat and the hush of the earth that made it possible. The green you see now was written in those conditions, a color that speaks of ancient forests, and of deep seas, and of a calm that can only be given by time.

When erosion and river rhythms finally freed the crystal from its subterranean cradle, the sapphire began a second chapter, one of human hands and careful choices. Sri Lankan miners, following the path of water and gravel, found pockets of rough material, and among that rough, this particular crystal was chosen for its clarity and depth of tone. From rough to radiance, the stone was entrusted to cutters who recognized that an oval silhouette would best showcase its internal life. The mixed brilliant cut was chosen to balance sparkle and color, to allow flashes of light to dance across a broad face while preserving the saturated green in the body of the gem. The cutting and polishing were executed with an attentive hand, so that every facet meets with precision, producing an excellent polish that amplifies the gem alive with reflected light. Heat treatment, a standard and stable enhancement, was applied to deepen and stabilize the color, honoring the stone rather than altering its essential nature.

Imagine wearing this sapphire close to your skin, set in a ring that will travel with you through ordinary days and extraordinary milestones. The oval form sits with an elegant restraint, and at 2.01 carats it reads as both intimate and confident. In morning light the gem releases a soft, verdant glow, in evening lamplight it becomes a reservoir of green, rich and deep. The very very slightly included clarity gives the stone a sense of authenticity, a hint of the earth from which it came, while remaining transparent enough to catch and return light with a lively brilliance. This is a gem that will transform a moment into memory, that will be the quiet focus of proposals, anniversaries, and personal vows, or the thoughtful gift that marks a new beginning. Each glance into the stone is a gentle reminder of continuity, beauty, and the small miracles that are carried across generations.

At The Natural Sapphire Company we handle each gem as a story, and this green sapphire offers a narrative that is both geological and emotional. The provenance of Ceylon Sri Lanka is a promise of exceptional material, and our team is committed to presenting it with clarity about its attributes, from the exact measurements to the nature of its enhancement. Heat treatment in this case is applied to bring out the stone at its most honest and lasting hue, a treatment that has been used by lapidaries for generations to refine and reveal intrinsic beauty. If you are seeking a piece that will stand as a signature of your taste, or if you are choosing a ring that will begin a new chapter, this sapphire is a companionable and radiant choice. It is a gem that holds the earth in its heart, and offers you, in return, a deep, green light that will warm with every wear, and that will be loved anew, again and again.
