Miners and local cutters in Sri Lanka have long understood how to reveal the best in these stones, and this sapphire, measuring 8.14 by 8.00 by 5.26 millimeters, carries that legacy. Its round shape and mixed brilliant cut were chosen to honor both the natural roundness of its crystal form and the human artistry required to coax out the maximum fire and scintillation from within.
