From the remote riverbeds of Madagascar to a hand finished setting in our atelier, this ring carries a story that is as delicate as the blush of dawn. At its heart sits a transparent 2.06 carat oval pink sapphire, measuring 8.65 x 7.31 x 4.07 mm, with a mixed brilliant cut that breathes light from every facet. This sapphire shows a light color saturation and an excellent polish, and has been evaluated as very slightly included at eye level, details that speak to its natural origin and honest beauty. Sourced by The Natural Sapphire Company, the stone began life in the warm, ancient soils of Madagascar, where geological patience and time coaxed trace elements into creating the rare pink tone that makes this gem so beguiling. In that landscape, rivers once carried the rough crystal, and in our hands it was carefully examined, cut, and polished to reveal its inner glow, preserving the subtle inclusions that attest to its natural history.
The ring design is inspired by the meeting of garden paths and classical architecture, where flowing organic lines meet precise structural symmetry. Two white pear shaped natural diamonds, weighing approximately 0.50 carats in total, and graded Very Slightly Included VS1 and VS2 with a color grade of F, flank the central sapphire like sculpted leaves cradling a flower. A scattering of white round natural diamonds, in groupings of approximately 0.15 carats, 0.30 carats, and 0.06 carats, all graded clarity VS and color grade F and G, trail along the shoulders and undergallery, catching light with every movement. The overall effect is both botanical and architectural, a crown of petals and columns, where delicate pavé and carefully positioned larger stones create rhythm and balance. The contrast between the soft pink center and the icy white diamonds emphasizes the sapphire hue, while the precision of the setting underscores a disciplined, almost architectural restraint.
Every detail of the mounting honors the stone and its journey, the entire ring being set in platinum 950 for enduring strength and a cool luminosity that complements the pink sapphire. Our craftsmen used traditional hand setting techniques and modern precision to ensure that each prong, each bead, and each milgrain echo the ring's dual inspiration, nature and structure. The pear diamonds sit at each shoulder as supportive keystones, while the rounds add a whisper of sparkle along the band, creating a wearable museum piece that feels intimate and timeless. When you hold this ring you are holding a story that began in the earth, was shaped by skilled hands, and finished in platinum to last a lifetime. At The Natural Sapphire Company we believe that a gemstone carries its origin within it, and this ring invites you to carry that origin with you, as a daily reminder of beauty found and crafted, of wild places and careful making, of history and the present converging on your hand.
