From the glacial alluvial gravels of Montana to your hand, this ring tells a story of earth and craft that only The Natural Sapphire Company can so carefully steward. The centerpiece is a transparent 1.13 carat pear shape bluish green sapphire, measuring 7.60 x 5.49 x 3.64 mm, cut in a mixed brilliant style to balance fire and depth. Mined in Montana, this sapphire displays intense color saturation and an excellent polish, with clarity assessed as very very slightly included when evaluated at eye level, a testament to its natural origin and careful selection. Our master cutters shaped the stone to maximize its water like glow while preserving weight and structural integrity, then passed it to our goldsmiths who designed a delicate, twisting shank in warm 10K yellow gold, studded with fine white round natural diamonds weighing approx 0.052 carats with clarity VS1 and VS2 and color grade F, and slightly larger white round natural diamonds weighing approx 0.112 carats with clarity VS and color grade F to G. The combined effect is a ring that feels like a found treasure, the mountain blue of the sapphire held aloft by the sunlit warmth of the gold and the bright pinpricks of diamond light along the shoulders.
When compared to similar designs on the market, this ring offers notable advantages in daily durability and long term wear. The 10K yellow gold setting used by The Natural Sapphire Company contains a greater proportion of alloy metals than higher karat options, making the band more resistant to scratches and deformation while still retaining a luminous color, so the twisting shank maintains its elegant form under normal wear better than many softer 14K or 18K designs. The sapphire is held in a carefully engineered prong and gallery structure that protects the girdle and pavilion, and the mixed brilliant cut reduces stress points along the stone, so it is less vulnerable to chipping than more fragile fancy cuts with exaggerated facets. The small accent diamonds are securely set into the shank to limit catch and movement, unlike some filigree or ultra thin styles that can weaken with repeated knocks. With routine care and periodic inspections to ensure prongs remain snug, this Montana sapphire ring combines natural rarity and considered engineering, a wearable heirloom designed for both beauty and resilience.
