From the depths of Africa to your hand, this ring tells a layered story of time, place, and craft. Born in a mineral rich seam, the bluish green sapphire began as a molecule of corundum subjected to heat and pressure over eons, forming the transparent crystal that would become the centerpiece of this design. Carefully recovered, the rough was evaluated and guided by the gem cutters at The Natural Sapphire Company, who revealed its emerald cut heart, a 1.60 carat stone measuring 8.27 x 5.67 x 3.19 mm. At eye level the stone reads as eye clean, its intense color saturation and excellent polish allowing light to travel through the step facets with serene depth. The sapphire was then set into a warm 14K yellow gold mount, where two white princess shaped lab grown diamonds flank the center gem, together weighing approximately 0.34 carats, clarity Very Slightly Included VS1 VS2, and color grade F. Every transition from rough to finished ring was overseen to preserve the stone character and to harmonize the cool bluish green with the embracing glow of gold.
The setting language of this piece speaks across eras, echoing the architectural restraint of Art Deco three stone jewels while recalling the secure bezel and protective mounts of earlier Georgian and Victorian treasures. The emerald cut, with its step facets and broad planes, channels the geometric clarity prized in the 1920s, while the solid gold bezel evokes the durable elegance of historic signet and protective settings that carried personal stories through generations. The pairing of princess shaped diamonds brings a modern, precise punctuation to the shoulders, a nod to later 20th century refinement that favors crisp lines and balanced symmetry. Crafted by The Natural Sapphire Company, this ring is both a geological heirloom and a contemporary statement, marrying origin story with technical excellence. It invites the wearer to hold a fragment of African earth polished into refinement, a piece that reads as both ancient and modern, personal and historical, ready to begin its own chapter on your hand.
