This blue sapphire began its journey deep beneath the earth in the storied hills of Ceylon in Sri Lanka, a place that has long been revered for producing gemstones with remarkable color and life. Over countless years of geological patience, aluminum and traces of iron and titanium crystallized under heat and pressure to form a single, clear crystal, which was later discovered by expert hands familiar with those ancient soils. From that rough crystal we selected a single pear shape gem weighing 2.24 carats, with dimensions of 9.15 by 6.88 by 4.94 millimeters, a mixed brilliant cut that was chosen to maximize both depth of color and scintillation. The stone displays a vivid color saturation that evokes the deepest ocean tones seen at dusk, combined with a clarity grade of very slightly included evaluated at eye level, and an excellent polish that allows light to pass through and return with a lively, lively blue.
