Cut into a sophisticated cushion shape with precise dimensions of 10.77 x 8.70 x 6.00 mm, this sapphire boasts a mixed brilliant cut that enhances its inherent brilliance and facets, bringing forth a dazzling display of light and color.
The clarity of this sapphire is classified as very slightly included, evaluated at eye level, ensuring that any inclusions present are minimal and virtually invisible to the naked eye. This impeccable clarity allows the full vivid color intensity of the gemstone to shine through, a trait of paramount importance in the evaluation of sapphires. This particular stone is distinguished by its unbeatable color grade and saturation, capturing a unique blend of depth and vibrancy that garners respect and admiration from industry professionals and gem enthusiasts alike.
Ceylon, now known as Sri Lanka, is renowned for producing sapphires of matchless beauty and this sapphire is an exemplary representative of its geographical origin. The hue of this stone possesses a deep blue that rivals the illustrious shades seen in sapphires from Kashmir, while the tone and saturation lend it an elegance reminiscent of the sapphires from Madagascar. Its color does not only dominate through depth but also commands attention with an intense brilliance, distinguishing it from the muted tones found in places like Australia. Such compelling comparison underscores the gem’s fine quality and exquisite charm, appealing directly to knowledgeable buyers with a discerning eye for rarity and craftsmanship.

This custom made ring setting is executed in a refined pavé and hidden halo design, available in 14K rose gold, 18K rose gold, 14K white gold, 18K white gold, 14K yellow gold, 18K yellow gold, platinum 950, silver, 14K yellow and white, and 18K yellow and white. The pavé technique uses a series of small diamonds or gemstones set closely together, creating a continuous surface of sparkle, and a seamless, elegant look. On this setting the pavé runs along the upper shank and into the gallery beneath the head, forming a subtle visual ribbon of light. The head is designed to accommodate a range of center stones including sapphire, ruby, emerald, and other gemstones, while the hidden halo encircles the girdle from below to provide additional scintillation without altering the clean silhouette of the top profile.
The structural strategy of the design enhances both security and brilliance of the center stone, by combining a precision prong head with an inner halo and pavé shoulders. The prongs are engineered to grasp the girdle firmly while maintaining an open crown that permits optimal light entry from above and through the pavilion, supporting strong return of brilliance. The hidden halo, set beneath the center, acts as a secondary support ring that reduces lateral play and increases the perceived size through reflected light, its micro stones also contributing light back into the pavilion. The pavé stones along the shank and the gallery are secured with micro bead or shared prong techniques, which distribute setting pressure across adjacent stones for stable retention, and the close setting minimizes exposed metal, promoting more faceted surface for light interaction. Choice of metal further influences optical performance and long term wear, white metals emphasize brightness and contrast for cool toned stones, warm rose and yellow metals soften the overall color and complement warm hued gems, and platinum offers heightened durability for active wearers. Overall the combination of an open, light admitting head, a reinforcing hidden halo, and a continuous pavé treatment provides a balanced approach to maximizing visual impact while maintaining secure, precise stone retention.
