This 1.46 carat bi color sapphire began its story deep within the ancient gravels of Ceylon, Sri Lanka, where generations of miners learned to read the language of the earth with patience and care. From the riverbeds the rough crystal was selected for its transparent body and its intriguing two tone character, a natural split of color that seems to capture both sky and sea in a single stone. Measured at 7.28 by 5.48 by 3.59 millimeters, the rough revealed its potential and was entrusted to a cutter who honored the stone by choosing an emerald cut to reveal its inner landscape. The result is a gemstone with medium intense color intensity, a clarity grade of slightly included evaluated at eye level, an excellent polish, and completely natural state with no enhancement. The Natural Sapphire Company presents this sapphire with a clear provenance, and for those who enjoy contrast, the opal type White Opal pairs beautifully with the cool blue tones, offering a soft luminous counterpoint to the sapphire’s crisp transparency.
The emerald cut was selected not only for its elegant geometry, but because its long, stepped facets enhance the sapphire’s inherent properties of light reflection. The broad table and parallel facets act like a series of mirrors, channeling light along the length of the stone and emphasizing the bi color transition with controlled flashes rather than scattered sparkle. This cut emphasizes depth and clarity, so that the medium intense color reads as layered and alive when you tilt the stone, and the excellent polish ensures that each facet returns light with a clean, glass like gleam. Slight inclusions add character without obscuring the gaze, they anchor the gem as a natural creation and become part of its unique fingerprint. Whether set as a solitary ring stone, combined with accent White Opal, or placed within a refined pendant, this emerald cut bi color sapphire carries the story of its Ceylon origin, the hands that shaped it, and the considered design that allows its light to speak.
