From the ancient depths of Madagascar, a single crystal grew slowly over millions of years, absorbing traces of the islands complex geology until it took on a rare bluish green hue. Hand recovered by experienced miners who respect the land and its rhythms, this gem left the mine as a transparent rough, its potential visible to trained eyes. At The Natural Sapphire Company master cutters examined the rough, and chose a radiant cut to awaken the stones inner fire, sculpting it to precise dimensions of 6.26 x 5.03 x 4.28 mm and polishing every facet to an excellent finish. The result is a clean, open window into the gem, a 1.18 carat radiant shape sapphire with medium color intensity, and clarity graded as very very slightly included evaluated at eye level. The stone has received no enhancement, preserving its natural character and provenance, and every facet still bears the quiet story of its Malagasy origin.
As a finished jewel this sapphire commands attention, its size and exceptional clarity making it ideally suited to a statement piece. The radiant cut amplifies the stones transparency and color, producing a lively play of light that reads both bold and refined when set in a single solitaire ring, a dramatic pendant, or a contemporary cluster. At 1.18 carats the gem sits prominently on the hand without overwhelming, its dimensions providing a generous face up presence that wears confidently on any occasion. Because the clarity is so high that inclusions are very very slightly included only at eye level, the pavilion can be cut to maximize brilliance and durability, allowing designers at The Natural Sapphire Company to create settings that highlight the gems natural color, and to pair it with warm or cool metals for contrast. This sapphire tells a continuous story from Madagascar earth, to patient cutting, to a finished piece that declares refined confidence, and it is made for someone who wishes to wear not just a jewel, but a narrative of origin, craft, and natural beauty.
