Sapphire Jewelry Photography is one of the most challenging aspects of all the types of photography that I have performed so far. The problems that come with sapphire jewelry photography are immense and often difficult to solve. The attraction is to excel at something that is challenging, and the satisfaction is immeasurable. It is a type of photography where one must be acutely aware of the laws of reflections and refraction at all times.

You cannot just take a single light source and direct it at the finished piece of sapphire jewelry or single natural untreated sapphire. It requires different methods of lighting as well as controlling the reflections and amount of outside light that comes in while photographing.

I have been photographing sapphire rings for a while now and I did some experimenting with the stunning sapphire rings using a white cloth as a background. So far I am really happy with the results and look forward to continuously learning new things inside of this ever-changing and exciting field.
