10K White Gold Pave Pendant Setting
This pendant is available as a custom made setting in rose gold, white gold, yellow gold, or platinum, with a choice of center stone including sapphire, ruby, emerald, or other gemstones. Bezel setting, in this design, consists of a smooth metal border that securely encircles the gemstone, forming a continuous rim that protects the girdle and pavilion edges while minimizing snagging. The bezel is engineered to follow the stone profile precisely, with a burnished inner shoulder to support the girdle and a polished outer face to reflect light into the crown. Halo style, as an option, places a center gemstone within a precisely measured ring of smaller stones, each calibrated for diameter and facet alignment to maximize secondary brilliance and to create a pronounced increase in apparent size. Pave style uses tightly spaced small diamonds or gemstones, set with minimal metal visibility to produce a continuous surface of sparkle. The micro pave insets are laid out on a uniform grid, with bead heights and spacing controlled to within tight tolerances so that light is refracted seamlessly across the surface. For reference only, Vedic inspired motifs can be integrated as a bespoke option, featuring intricate ancient inspired patterns and symbolic elements, however we will only apply Vedic styling when the client specifically requests that finish.
The technical foundation of the pendant begins with stone selection and faceting choices. For sapphires and rubies we recommend mixed cut or brilliant modified cuts to balance intensity with scintillation, and for emeralds a step cut or rectangular emerald cut emphasizes color while preserving clarity. Facet junctions are inspected under high magnification to ensure crisp crown and pavilion intersections, and table symmetry is checked for optimal light return. Color grading is discussed in terms of hue, tone, and saturation, with preferred ranges described for each species, and we can supply grading documentation upon request. The bezel seat is milled to conform to the exact crown and girdle geometry, creating a secure press fit, while the halo and pave stones are set using a combination of micro prong and bead techniques to preserve alignment and minimize metal profile. All settings are checked for stone retention tolerance, measured with calibrated feeler gauges and optical inspection, ensuring long term security without compromising optical performance.
Our artisans bring this design to life through a blend of modern engineering and time honored hand finishing. The process begins with a CAD model refined for optical proportions and metal flow, followed by a precision wax print and lost wax casting in the selected alloy. For rose gold and yellow gold we commonly use an 18 karat alloy to achieve durable workability and rich color saturation, and for platinum the alloy is chosen for tensile strength and patina longevity. Hand filing and burnishing follow casting, where the bezel rim is formed and polished to a uniform thickness, and stone seats are undercut and burnished to cradle each gem. Micro pave work is executed under high magnification with custom gravers and burnishing tools, with every bead shaped and inspected for uniformity. Final finishing includes sequential polishing through multi grade abrasives, ultrasonic cleaning to remove polishing media, and for white gold finishes, a controlled rhodium plating to achieve a bright white surface. Each piece is hallmarked and subjected to a final quality control protocol that includes optical checks for facet alignment, color consistency, and stone security.
Customization and ordering are facilitated with clear technical options and timeline estimates. You may select metal type, center stone species and approximate weight, cut style, and whether you prefer a bezel, halo, pave, or a combined configuration, and we will provide a detailed CAD render and stone specification sheet prior to production. If you desire the Vedic inspired motif mentioned earlier, please advise so we can incorporate symbolic patterns and confirm any additional detailing prior to tooling. Care instructions include routine inspection of bead and bezel integrity, gentle cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush, and professional maintenance every few years to ensure settings remain secure. Our commitment is to deliver a pendant that combines precise gemological choices with meticulous handcrafting, resulting in a piece that is both technically refined and enduringly elegant.
