1.22 Ct. Purplish Pink Sapphire from Ceylon (Sri Lanka)

This purplish pink sapphire began its journey in the gem rich soils of Ceylon Sri Lanka, where it was carefully recovered from primary and alluvial deposits by experienced miners, then transported to regional workshops for initial sorting and assessment. From the moment of extraction, the rough received a measured evaluation of color and clarity, and was matched to a cutting plan that would best express its natural tone and transparency. Skilled cutters shaped the material into a cushion form and executed a mixed brilliant faceted design to balance depth and scintillation, while polishers refined the surface to an excellent finish. Throughout this process, the stone was tracked and documented to preserve its provenance, and it arrived to our quality control bench at The Natural Sapphire Company with its natural state intact, having undergone no enhancement.

This transparent 1.22 carat cushion shape sapphire measures 6.18 by 5.25 by 3.98 mm, and displays an intense color intensity that reads as a vivid purplish pink in balanced lighting. The cutting style is faceted with a mixed brilliant cut, chosen to enhance face up brilliance and retain weight, and the polish is reported as excellent, delivering crisp facet junctions and lively reflection. Clarity is graded as slightly included when evaluated at eye level, consistent with natural formation characteristics and visible only under close inspection. The stone is unheated, no enhancement, and its origin is Ceylon Sri Lanka, attributes that contribute to its gemological and aesthetic profile.
