Product description

This transparent 1.16 carat radiant shape pinkish purple sapphire measures 6.71 by 5.06 by 3.45 mm, presenting a balanced table and depth that are characteristic of an effectively proportioned radiant cut. The stone is faceted with the radiant style combining trimmed corners and multiple brilliant style facets across the crown and pavilion, a combination that emphasizes both internal scintillation and a strong face up presence. Clarity is graded slightly included, evaluated at eye level, indicating the presence of minor natural features that do not significantly detract from the overall appearance but do provide gemstone authenticity and character. Color intensity is described as intense, and the pinkish purple hue shows a pleasing saturation that reads richly in neutral light. The polish is excellent, which promotes crisp facet junctions and clean reflections, and the gem has undergone routine heat treatment to enhance color uniformity and stability. The material originates from Africa, and The Natural Sapphire Company presents this stone as an example of well executed cutting and finishing on a premium corundum specimen.

Under natural daylight, particularly in shaded or diffused conditions, the sapphire’s intense pinkish purple will appear at its most balanced, with even color distribution across the table and strong overall saturation. Direct sunlight will enhance brilliance and scintillation, producing more contrast between bright flashes and dark facet zones, and will also reveal any lively facet patterning created by the radiant cut. In warm incandescent lighting, the warmer spectral content will emphasize the pink components of the hue, making the stone read slightly warmer and more pink. Cool white LEDs and standard office fluorescent light will tend to accent the purple component, giving a cooler overall impression while still maintaining good face up color. In lower light levels, including candlelight, the stone will present deeper, more velvety tones with reduced peripheral sparkle, and localized flashes from larger facets will become the primary visual activity. The radiant cut’s mix of step and brilliant faceting supports both broad color depth and lively sparkle, so the gem maintains visual interest across lighting extremes.

The slightly included clarity grade means that under magnification the stone will reveal typical internal features of natural corundum, while at normal viewing distances inclusions are unlikely to interrupt the stone’s face up performance. These internal features can sometimes act as light scattering sites, subtly increasing internal flash in certain orientations, but they do not compromise structural integrity or long term wear when set properly. Choice of mounting and metal will influence perceived color and light return, with warmer metal tones tending to enhance the pink aspects and white metals providing a crisp, more neutral presentation that emphasizes brilliance. An open gallery or bezel with a slight opening behind the pavilion will allow light to enter and maximize the sapphire’s lively facet play, while a closed back in a warm colored metal can deepen the perceived hue. Heat treatment applied to this sapphire is a stable and commonly accepted enhancement, and normal jewelry care practices are appropriate. Gentle cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush will maintain the stone’s appearance, and professional inspection is recommended if impressionable surface nicks are suspected. The Natural Sapphire Company can provide additional viewings, higher resolution imagery, and lighting specific photos to illustrate the stone under the conditions most relevant to your intended use.
