We brought this rough to our cutters with a clear intention, to honor the stone story while unlocking maximum light and life from its heart. The result is a 1.45 carat oval shape purplish pink sapphire, measuring 7.04 by 6.17 by 4.38 millimeters, fashioned in a mixed brilliant cut with an excellent polish. The mixed brilliant design marries the strong light return of brilliant facets with the elegant elongation of an oval silhouette, creating a lively dance of flashes that stream from the table through the pavilion and back to the eye, while also concentrating the sapphire color into a vivid, saturated face up tone.
