From the hidden folds of Ceylon earth to the quiet polish of the workshop, this pink sapphire began life in the legendary gem fields of Sri Lanka. In its rough form it carried the slow burn of geological time, and when our cutters at The Natural Sapphire Company found the perfect orientation they revealed an oval heart weighing 1.32 carat, with precise dimensions of 7.80 x 5.86 x 3.56 mm. The mixed brilliant cut was chosen to balance scintillation and color, allowing table facets to show the gem transparent and lively while pavilion facets throw back flashes of fire. Evaluated at eye level the stone is eye clean, its clarity a testament to careful sourcing, and the medium color saturation gives the pink tone a natural, vivacious warmth. An excellent polish finishes the surface, so the pink blooms under light with a clarity and depth that invites a private moment of admiration on first sight.
The ring that holds this Ceylon pink sapphire is crafted entirely in 14K yellow gold, sculpted into delicate, flowing shoulders that echo leaf and vine motifs. The setting combines a secure prong cradle with an open gallery and subtle filigree, a composition that feels as though it grew from the same earth that produced the gem. In style it nods to the romantic filigree of Victorian jewels, where intimacy and handcrafted detail were prized, and it also channels the organic grace of Art Nouveau pieces, those nature inspired designs by masters of the turn of the century who celebrated curves and botanical forms. At the same time the airy gallery and focus on the central gem recall the elegant solitaires of the Edwardian era, where metalwork was refined to lift and showcase the stone. The result is a ring that reads as both an heirloom and a contemporary statement, a vessel for the story of a Sri Lankan sapphire and the hands that shaped it. If you wish to feel the provenance and craftsmanship in person, The Natural Sapphire Company is here to guide you through the journey from mine to finger.
