This ring begins its story deep in the storied mines of Ceylon Sri Lanka, where a rare 1.80 carat cushion shape blue sapphire was unearthed, measuring 9.10 x 6.24 x 3.35 mm. The sapphire carries a mixed brilliant cut that was chosen to celebrate the stone's natural transparency, light color saturation, and very very slightly included clarity as evaluated at eye level, details that give the gem personality and depth rather than hiding it. Our master cutters at The Natural Sapphire Company respected the crystal habit and internal character of the stone, allowing the pavilion facets to open the blue while the mixed brilliant crown returns lively flashes. The central sapphire is embraced by white pear shaped lab grown diamonds totaling approximately 0.20 carats, and white round shaped lab grown diamonds totaling approximately 0.16 carats, both groups graded Very Slightly Included VS1, VS2 and color F, their icy white tones providing a crisp halo that accentuates the sapphire's sail of cornflower blue. The entire composition is set in 22K white gold with an excellent polish, each prong and shoulder finished to reflect light back into the gems while securing them for daily wear.
