Product description

One transparent pear shaped sapphire, weighing 0.61 carat, presents a precise combination of dimensions and optical attributes, 6.63 x 4.34 x 2.62 mm, faceted in a mixed brilliant cutting style, with an excellent polish. The stone is a bi color parti sapphire from Ceylon Sri Lanka, with medium color intensity and a clarity grade described as very very slightly included, evaluated at eye level. The cutting approach retains substantial weight while defining a balanced outline, and the mixed brilliant arrangement of facets optimizes both scintillation and color distribution across the pavilion and crown. This sapphire has been heat treated to enhance stability and color uniformity, a standard and widely accepted enhancement for material from this region, and the combination of clarity, cut, and polish produces an immediate impression of controlled brilliance and clean windowing.

The pear shape and mixed brilliant cut work together to present the parti coloration in a way that is visually coherent from multiple viewing angles, the rounded upper shoulders and tapered point creating a dynamic gradient between the color zones. Facet junctions and facet planes are executed to support internal light return, so that the medium intensity colors appear saturated without loss of transparency. The very very slightly included clarity grade, when assessed at eye level, indicates that inclusions are minimal and do not detract from the optical performance under normal viewing conditions, they are largely contained and do not interrupt the flow of light through the table and pavilion. The excellent polish minimizes surface disruption, allowing crisp facet reflections and contributing to even light dispersion, the result being that both the blue and yellow tones that characterize parti sapphires are presented with clarity and separation, yet they blend naturally when viewed at varying angles, creating subtle shifts in hue that are intrinsic to the gemstone rather than the setting or lighting.

From a practical and gemological perspective, the combination of the sapphires size, shape, and finish makes it well suited for precision mounting where the symmetry and facet alignment can be preserved, The Natural Sapphire Company has documented the stone with its full specification, ensuring that lapidary decisions and setting designs can be executed with predictable results. The medium color intensity combined with transparent body color provides versatility in metal choices and complementary accent stones, while the mixed brilliant cutter strategy preserves optical return in smaller carat weights. The heat treatment applied improves color consistency and eliminates certain internal features that would otherwise affect durability or appearance, it does not compromise the structural integrity of the corundum, and the very very slightly included clarity grade confirms that the stone remains visually clean. Overall, the sapphire demonstrates how meticulous cutting, an excellent polish, and careful treatment converge to enhance beauty from every angle, delivering consistent light performance, defined color presentation, and reliable physical characteristics suitable for fine jewelry production.
