Product description

This 1.04 carat, radiant shape greenish blue sapphire from Madagascar presents a technical balance of proportion and polish, measuring 5.98 x 4.99 x 3.57 mm and exhibiting a depth percentage of approximately 65 percent. The radiant cut combines a modified brilliant crown with a step-influenced pavilion and trimmed corners to marry strong light return with controlled color saturation. Precision faceting produces crisp facet junctions and well-defined facet planes, and the excellent polish maximizes surface luster and specular reflection. Evaluated at eye level, the stone is eye clean, indicating inclusions are absent to the unaided eye and allow unobstructed light performance, while the intense color intensity is the result of an optimal depth that concentrates the greenish blue tone without tipping into overly dark appearance. The sapphire has been heat treated, a stable and widely accepted enhancement that improves hue and clarity, and the origin, Madagascar, is consistent with the stone’s vivid color and clean crystal habit.

From a durability and daily wear perspective this sapphire is highly suitable for continuous use in jewelry. As corundum it has a Mohs hardness of 9, second only to diamond among natural gem materials, providing exceptional resistance to abrasion and surface scratching in rings, bracelets, and other frequently worn pieces. Corundum’s crystalline structure confers good toughness and it lacks true cleavage, reducing the risk of catastrophic cleavage-related fracture under typical wear conditions, although prudent setting design remains important to protect the trimmed corners of a radiant cut. The present proportions and secure faceting make this gem ideal for settings that balance protection and visibility, such as four or six prong corner settings that engage each trimmed corner, or a full bezel for maximum edge protection. Recommended mounting metals include platinum or 18k gold for their combination of strength and long-term stability. Routine care involves avoiding harsh blows and ultrasonic cleaners only when inclusions or treatments warrant consultation, but normal cleaning with warm soapy water and a soft brush will maintain brilliance. The Natural Sapphire Company offers this Madagascar radiant as a technically refined, wear-ready choice for daily jewelry, combining precise craftsmanship, intense color, and enduring durability.
