From the misted hills of Ceylon Sri Lanka these two pear shaped white sapphires began their long journey in pockets of metamorphic rock where heat and pressure coaxed corundum crystals from the earth. Our gem hunters at The Natural Sapphire Company work with local mines and artisans who respect the land and the traditions that have guided Ceylon mining for generations, and these particular crystals were selected for their transparency and potential. We sent each rough to a master cutter who revealed the stones hidden promise, shaping them into mixed brilliant pear cuts that balance sparkle with elegant silhouette. The pair weighs 0.25 carats and 0.29 carats, and measures 4.68 x 3.17 x 2.33 mm and 4.90 x 3.19 x 2.48 mm, clarity grade very very slightly included evaluated at eye level, colorless color intensity, excellent polish, no enhancement, origin Ceylon Sri Lanka. The cutting process is a conversation between cutter and crystal, each facet placed to respect natural inclusions and to maximize light return, and the result is a pair that feels at once delicate and alive, ready to be set into an intimate design that celebrates restraint and refinement.
When you place these white sapphires next to other white gemstones you will notice a character of light that is distinct and enduring. Compared to diamonds they display less dispersion or fire, which gives them a cooler, more silvery sheen rather than the rainbow flashes that diamonds are prized for, and this lends them a refined, understated brilliance that photographs and jewelry wearers often prefer for day to day elegance. Against moissanite they will appear more subtle, with softer reflections and a cleaner, more sapphire like luminosity that does not compete with the surrounding metal or gemstones. Because these sapphires are natural and untreated they carry an authentic depth that man made alternatives cannot replicate, and their mixed brilliant cut maximizes scintillation while preserving a pear shape that flatters the finger or earlobe. If you seek a pairing stone for an engagement ring, an accent for vintage inspired settings, or a minimalist everyday pair of studs, these sapphires promise endurance and character, and The Natural Sapphire Company will work with you to find the setting that best completes their story.
