1.27 Ct. Greenish Blue Sapphire from Montana

This greenish blue sapphire began its history millions of years ago deep within the continental crust, where aluminum rich sediments and magmatic fluids converged under sustained heat and pressure to crystallize corundum. Trace quantities of iron and titanium substituted into the crystal lattice, altering absorption of visible light and producing the distinctive greenish blue hue seen today. Over geologic time, tectonic uplift and weathering liberated crystals from their primary host rocks, allowing them to be transported and concentrated in Montana gravels. This specimen, originating from Montana, exhibits that long history in its natural transparency and internal character, with a clarity grade of very very slightly included, evaluated at eye level.
