From the heart of Ceylon in Sri Lanka this cushion shape purple sapphire began as a crystalline promise deep in the earth, born where monsoon rains and ancient geology formed stones of singular color. Our team at The Natural Sapphire Company follows that journey from mine to bench with respect for tradition and an eye for modern precision, selecting a transparent 0.83 carat gem that speaks of its origin in every facet. Measuring 5.43 by 5.32 by 3.32 millimeters this sapphire carries intense color saturation and a clarity graded as very slightly included when viewed at eye level, and it was entrusted to our master cutter to reveal its inner fire. The decision to employ a mixed brilliant cut for this cushion shape was deliberate, the cutter balancing pavilion facets that draw light inward with crown facets that return that light as lively scintillation, the result of exacting facet angles and symmetry, and an excellent polish that allows the purple to breathe and shift with every motion.

On the ring the sapphire sits poised between two white round diamonds that together weigh approximately 0.072 carats, with clarity grades Very Slightly Included in VS1 and VS2 and a color grade of F, chosen to provide a cool, bright contrast to the warm intensity of the Ceylon stone.
