This 1.04 carat trillion shape blue sapphire measures 5.87 x 6.97 x 3.85 millimeters, and exemplifies precision faceting and natural material quality that discerning collectors demand. The trillion cut in this stone has been executed with strict attention to symmetry and proportionality, balancing a broad table with well formed crown and pavilion facets to optimize internal light return and face up color. The intense color intensity is evenly distributed across the table and facets, presenting a saturated Ceylon blue that remains lively under both daylight and incandescent sources. Clarity is assessed as very slightly included at eye level, with inclusions that do not detract from overall transparency or brilliance, and the excellent polish yields crisp facet junctions and bright patterning. No enhancement has been applied, the sapphire is natural and unheated, and its origin is Ceylon, which contributes to its characteristic cornflower to medium strong blue tones. The combination of precise trillion geometry, uncompromised surface finish, and natural color without treatment results in a gem that performs with excellent scintillation and strong face up saturation for its size.
The journey of this sapphire from mine to market reflects deliberate choices at each stage to preserve its natural character and maximize optical performance. Sourced from traditional Ceylon deposits, the rough was evaluated by experienced gemologists who mapped the internal structure and color zoning to determine an optimal cutting plan that preserved weight while enhancing color saturation. The cutter executed a tailored trillion faceting scheme designed to align pavilion angles with the material s refractive index, an approach that increases return of the sapphire s blue wavelengths and minimizes light leakage at the girdle. After cutting and polishing, the stone underwent a systematic assessment including loupe and eye level clarity grading, color grading under standardized lighting, and verification of absence of thermal or other enhancement. Inventory and photographic documentation were completed on arrival at The Natural Sapphire Company, where our technical team verifies measurements, carat weight, cut proportions, and polish before presenting the gem to clients. This 1.04 carat natural unheated Ceylon trillion blue sapphire is well suited for a precision setting where the cutter s faceting plan and the stone s inherent color can be showcased, offering collectors and connoisseurs a combination of technical refinement and authentic provenance.
