From the well worn river terraces of Ceylon to the bench of our master cutters, these two blue sapphires tell a long and luminous story, The Natural Sapphire Company accompanies each stage of that journey with care. Mined in Sri Lanka, these sapphires began life where ancient geology and tropical weather met to form corundum of exceptional depth and character, the rough stones were selected for their intense blue potential, then gently heat treated to reveal the velvety tones customers cherish. At the hands of an experienced cutter the pair was shaped into matching ovals, one weighing 1.05 carats, the other 0.90 carats, with dimensions of 7.09 by 5.08 by 3.48 millimeters and 6.99 by 5.00 by 3.24 millimeters respectively. The mixed brilliant cut maximizes the vivid color and light return, the clarity is evaluated at eye level as very very slightly included, and the excellent polish gives each facet a mirror like finish, together these attributes create a pair that reflects Ceylonese character and jewellery craft.
Because no two personal collections are exactly alike, these sapphires were prepared with customization in mind, The Natural Sapphire Company offers bespoke options to integrate this pair seamlessly with your existing pieces. If you wish to match them to a passed down setting we can align table size and depth to sit evenly in existing bezels or prongs, if you prefer a new mount we will recommend metal and profile choices that harmonize with current jewellery, for example platinum or white gold will emphasize the cool, intense blue, yellow gold will create a classic warm contrast. Our bench can perform subtle adjustments to orientation and depth to balance the slight weight difference between 1.05 and 0.90 carats without sacrificing brilliance, we can add delicate diamond halos, millgrain details, or create a custom three stone ring or pendant to complement other gems in your collection. Every commission includes a personalized consultation, CAD previews and careful considerations about recutting versus setting, so you can achieve a matched look that feels inherited and intentional, these sapphires are ready to become part of your story, and we will guide you through every step to ensure they sit beautifully with what you already treasure.
